Byzantine Weights, Circa 5th-7th centuries. Weight of 1 Nomisma (Bronze, 17 mm, 4.39 g), a circular coin weight for a solidus made from a Greek coin from Pergamum from the 2nd century BC. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet; on the bowl, countermark: owl standing right, head facing, within circular incuse. Rev. Blank except for a large engraved cross. Cf.
